In the election year in Uttar Pradesh, the demand to change the name of another city Ghazipur has gained momentum.Regarding this, the minister in the BJP government, Sangeeta Balwant has written a letter to CM Yogi.It has been said in the letter that Ghazipur should be named Gandhipur or Gandhipuri.

According to the report, Sangita Balwant, Minister of State for Cooperation, has written a letter to the Chief Minister saying that the invaders in Ghazipur came to this city in 1300 AD and changed the name.He further said that now the time has come that the city should be given its old identity and its name should be changed.

This argument is given in the letter-Talking to the media, Sangeeta Balwant said that this has been the work place of Vishwamitra's father Rajiv Gandhi? That is why we demand that the government change the name of Ghazipur to Gandhipur or Gandhipuri. He further said that the city was named after the infamous Sayyid Ghazi in 1330, so now the name of the city should be considered.

Let us inform you that earlier Ballia MP Virendra Singh Mast had demanded the government to change the name of Ghazipur. He said that apart from Ghazipur, the name of Muhammadabad should be changed to Shivpujan Rai Nagar and Kasimabad after the name of Maharaja Suheldev.Mast further said that the ancient history of UP is proud of the skill of the kings.

It is noteworthy that after the formation of Yogi Adityanath's government in Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad has been renamed as Prayagraj, Faizabad as Ayodhya and Mughalsarai station as Deen Dayal. However, this decision of the government was questioned by the opposition.
