Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi reached Jharkhand on Thursday amid the impact of power generation due to insufficient stock of coal in the country including Jharkhand.

Jharkhand News (Ranchi):Due to the lack of sufficient stock of coal in Jharkhand including the country, electricity generation is being affected for the last few days.In the midst of this crisis, Coal Minister Prahlad Joshi reached Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on Thursday.From here he directly visited the Ashoka Open Cast Coal Mine located in Chatra district.During this, Coal Minister Shri Joshi said that efforts are being made to increase the stock of coal.Under this, two million tonnes of coal will be supplied from October 15.

Union Minister Shri Joshi said that the Central Government is keeping a special eye on the power crisis in the country.Soon this problem will be solved.The Union Minister reached Ranchi Airport from Chhattisgarh on Thursday morning.Then while visiting the Ashok Opencast Coal Mine of CCL, Ranchi located in Chatra district from here, he said that this mine with an annual peak rated capacity of 20 MT is one of the biggest coal projects of CCL.

During this, while interacting with the workers of the mine, he also encouraged them to increase coal production and offtake.Surface miners working in Ashoka Coal Mine make coal mining more productive with reduction in noise and dust propagation.The Union Minister interacted with the Mining Engineers of Ashoka Mine and stressed on loading of coal of proper size.

At the same time, the Union Minister also inspected the Bachhra Railway Siding of CCL, Ranchi.In this siding, loading was being done in a rack to dispatch the thermal power station.During the inspection, emphasis was laid on loading of coal in proper quality and quantity in railway wagons.

Union Minister Shri Joshi said that due to heavy rains in the past, the coal extraction work was affected.He admitted that this problem has arisen due to water-logging in coal mines and lack of imports.But, now the situation is slowly returning to normal.In such a situation, 2 million tonnes of coal will be supplied from October 15.Along with this, efforts have also been intensified to supply coal on time to all the power plants of the country.

Explain that Jharkhand produces 40 percent of the country's coal.At the same time, according to the report 2020-21 of the Ministry of Coal, Jharkhand has reached the fourth place in terms of coal production.During the inspection of Ashok Open Cast Coal Mine of Chatra by Union Minister Shri Joshi, the Chairman of Coal India, CMD of CCL and several officers of the Ministry of Coal were also accompanying him.
