Reports about the arrest of each other's fishermen have often come to light from Pakistan and India.In fact, there is no clear demarcation of the maritime boundary in the Arabian Sea and fishermen do not have technology-equipped boats to know their exact location.Due to sluggish bureaucracy and lengthy legal procedures, fishermen usually end up in jails for months and sometimes even years.

Last month, the Sri Lankan Navy arrested 23 Indian fishermen and confiscated their two boats for illegally fishing in the country's waters.At the same time, in March, the Navy had caught 54 Indian nationals on charges of fishing in their country's waters and their boats were confiscated.
