The state governments have announced a holiday on November 10.

Chhath Puja Holiday List:Many state governments have declared a public holiday on Chhath Mahaparv.The governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand have declared holidays on the occasion of Chhath.On Chhath Mahaparv which started from 8th October, Chhathvrati will offer Argha to the rising sun on 10th November and it will end with offering Argha to the rising sun on 11th November.

Celebrated 6 days after Diwali, this great festival lasts for four days.Chhathvarti observes a Nirjala fast.Their fast is completed after offering Argha to the rising sun.This is the reason why the state governments have announced a holiday on November 10.Earlier Chhath Puja was limited to North India, but now it is celebrated with pomp across the country.This is the reason that different state governments have declared a holiday on this occasion.

Along with the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also announced a holiday in his state.There will be a public holiday in Delhi on November 10 on Chhath Mahaparv.Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced this.The Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand has declared a holiday on Chhath Puja, while the Uttarakhand government has also declared a holiday on November 10.

Banks will remain closed at these places till 14

  • November 10: Wednesday – Banks will not open in Patna, Ranchi due to Chhath Puja.

  • November 11: Thursday - Banks will remain closed in Patna due to Chhath Puja.

  • 12 November: Friday – Banks will remain closed in Shillong due to Vangla festival.

  • November 13: Banks will be closed on Saturday.
