Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav made a big announcement on Tuesday, saying that the fare of trains increased due to corona virus epidemic will be reduced and special tags will also be removed from trains soon.In Jharsuguda, Odisha, the Railway Minister said that with the severity of the epidemic reducing, the operation of trains is also returning to normal and that is why special tags will be removed from trains in the coming two-and-a-half months.
He said that the government is considering all possible arrangements to provide relief to the railway passengers.Under this, soon the fare of trains will be brought to the condition before the corona virus epidemic.Senior citizens, differently-abled and special class passengers will also get concession in fare as before.Vaishnav said this after a meeting with officials of the South-East and East Coast Railway here.
Vaishnav, in a high-level review meeting with officials of South Eastern Railway and East Coast Railway, suggested a number of steps to improve passenger amenities in the South-Eastern Railway zone and emphasized on safety issues.Various matters related to the development of railway infrastructure in the state were discussed in detail.Vaishnav stressed on timely completion of all ongoing railway projects.
