Tulsi marriage has a lot of importance in Hinduism. There is a tradition of getting married to Shaligram avatar of Lord Vishnu and Mata Tulsi on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. This Ekadashi is also called Devuthani Ekadashi or Devotthan Ekadashi.
Tulsi Vivah is performed only on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi, although some people perform Tulsi Vivah on the day of Dwadashi as well. This year Prabodhini Ekadashi is falling on both 14th and 15th November. In such a situation, most people are confused about the date of Ekadashi, while Tulsi is also thinking about marriage whether to do it on November 14 or on November 15.According to Dharmasindhu texts, if Dwadashi is falling with Ekadashi date, then Tulsi marriage should be done on that day in Pradosh period.According to this rule, it will be most auspicious to get Tulsi Vivah on 15th of November this year and keep Prabodhini Ekadashi fast.It is important to take special care of some things during Tulsi Vivah.
