Players should eat whatever they want, it is their choice but who has given this right to BCCI to recommend Halal meat.

BCCI has been embroiled in controversy for recommending Halal meat during the Kanpur Test. According to the menu of Indian cricketers' food, the BCCI recommended Halal meat, after which the controversy started.

According to the menu, pork (pork) and beef (beef) in any form should not be part of the meal. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and advocate Gaurav Goyal has demanded immediate withdrawal of this recommendation. In a video released on his Twitter handle, Goyal said, "Players should eat whatever they want, it is their choice but who has given this right to BCCI to recommend Halal meat." He has also demanded the withdrawal of this decision.

No official statement has come out from the BCCI in this regard so far. Nutrition is taken care of in the menu prepared for the players. It has been observed that Hindu and Sikh players want to eat jerk meat, in which the head of the animal is severed from the body in one stroke, while Muslim players want to eat halal meat.

A former Indian cricketer said that it is not surprising to not include pork and beef in the diet but written instructions were never given in this regard. According to PTI, beef or pork was never sent to the dressing room on match days. At least not in India. Therefore, it can be said that there is nothing new in the instruction given by the BCCI, except that it is written.
