There is going to be a big increase in the strength of the Indian Navy at sea. The Indian Navy is going to induct the fourth Scorpene-class submarine INS Vela with stealth feature in its fleet. The event will be held in Mumbai on Thursday, 25 November 2021.

Speaking on the occasion, Anish Mathew, Commanding Officer, INS Vela said, “It is a proud occasion for all of us. The battery and modern communication system in this submarine are indigenous. Therefore it also promotes the dream of a self-reliant India.

This step is considered very important to stop the growing influence of China in the Indian Ocean. Earlier on November 21, the Navy also inducted a Guided Missile Destroyer (Destroyer) Visakhapatnam into its fleet. With the induction of missile destroyer and the submarine of the fourth Scorpene, the Navy is expected to get a big boost in this area.
