Railway facility: Passengers will get hot food in long distance trains, will start getting it from today

Railways is preparing to provide food facility to the passengers of trains of all routes from January 1.

Passengers of long distance trains will again get hot food. Now instead of packed food, fresh food cooked in the kitchen will be served to them. The passengers of AC First will also be given hot roti with a griddle. Due to Covid, the food served in trains was stopped, which is being resumed from Sunday.

Railways will start such facility in trains running in all directions from January 1. At present, food will be available in 20 trains from Sunday. Food facility in 50 trains till 7th December.

Railways is going to start the process of providing fresh food in long distance trains from Sunday. On Sunday, IRCTC will serve food to passengers on their seats in the Bhopal Shatabdi, Lucknow Shatabdi, Kalka Shatabdi and Shrimata Vaishnav Devi-bound Vande Bharat trains.

Apart from this, food will be supplied in 20 trains including Jaipur Double Decker, Sangamitra, Archana Express, Dhanbad-Andhra Pradesh Express, Coromandel Express, Hirakud Express. Its guide line has been issued.

According to railway officials, by December 7, passengers of more than 50 trains will start getting fresh food. These include Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Mail and Express trains. For this, the passengers will be charged for food in the train itself as per the old rate. Both Samish and Niramish meals will be available in most trains. Along with this, breakfast and tea-coffee facility will be available during breakfast. Full food will be provided to the passengers at night and in the afternoon.
