The Punjab government on Thursday constituted a two-member high-level probe into the serious lapse in the security of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The committee will submit its report in three days. A Punjab government spokesperson said that retired Justice Mahtab Singh Gill and Principal Secretary, Home and Law Affairs Anurag Verma would conduct a thorough inquiry as to how such a huge lapse in the security of the Prime Minister took place. The petition sought a direction to the state government to find out the reason for the lapse and ensure that it does not happen in future.
