Nirmala Sitharaman

The country's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to present her fourth budget. The budget of the last financial year was also presented under the shadow of Corona and now this time the budget has also become more important in view of the new variant of Kovid 19. Let us tell you that Sitharaman has come out as the main face of the government to provide economic response during the pandemic and economic slowdown. According to a report, the Finance Minister has promised that this time the budget will be something special which has not come yet. TV Somanathan TV Somanathan, who holds the responsibility of Expenditure Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, is the main face of this budget team. In fact, it is a tradition that out of the five secretaries of the Ministry of Finance, the senior most is appointed as the Finance Secretary. At present, this big responsibility is being handled by Somanathan. Somanathan is a 1987 batch IAS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre. Prior to this, he has also served in the World Bank. Somanathan, a PhD in Economics from the University of Calcutta, has a big challenge to keep the expenditure in check in the budget.

Tarun Bajaj

Tarun Bajaj, a 1988 Haryana batch IAS officer, is the Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. Before joining the Finance Ministry, Bajaj has also served in the Prime Minister's Office. While working here, he has worked on many relief packages for the country. Ajay Seth being the newest member in the finance ministry, all eyes will be on Ajay Seth, posted as economic affairs secretary, as the DEA is the nodal department for policies related to capital markets, investment and infrastructure. Ajay is a 1987 batch IAS officer from Karnataka cadre. Seth has the difficult task of reviving private capital expenditure in the economy in order to sustain India's GDP growth.

Debashish Panda

Debashish Panda is the Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. Panda can be considered the most important part of the team because all the big and small announcements related to the financial sector in the budget come under his responsibility. Panda, a 1987 batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, is also tasked with working closely with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to ensure the stability of the financial system.

Tuhin Kant Pandey

The name of Tuhin Kant Pandey is also included in the budget team of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, whose department will be all eyes. In fact, Tuhin Kant, a 1987 batch Odisha cadre IAS officer, is the secretary of the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management. He was appointed Secretary of DIPAM in October 2019.
