A special court has sentenced a youth to 20 years imprisonment for raping a minor in Jhalawar in the year 2020.

A special court has sentenced a 22-year-old youth to 20 years' imprisonment in the one year 2020 case of raping a minor in Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act court has also imposed a fine of Rs 35,000 on Doshi. The youth had raped a 16-year-old girl.

A case of harassment and molestation was registered by the victim's family members under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the POCSO Act. Later, on the basis of the statement given by the minor, charges of rape under sections 161 and 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) were also included in it.

The city's POCSO Court 1 on Tuesday convicted Bhupendra Singh alias Bittu (22) in this case. Public Prosecutor Ramhetar Gurjar gave this information on Wednesday. He said that the culprit was the neighbor of the minor. Late in the night when she had come out of the house to have minor doubts, he had raped her.

Statements of 14 witnesses were recorded, 22 documents were produced, they said that on the basis of the medical examination report and evidence of the victim, the police had registered a case of rape against Bhupendra Singh and arrested him. The statements of at least 14 witnesses were recorded during the hearing in the case and 22 documents were produced before the court.

Meanwhile, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has upheld a trial court's order awarding death sentence to a 26-year-old man for allegedly raping and killing a seven-year-old Dalit girl. The court said that the trial court in its order has proved that this case is one of the rarest cases in which capital punishment can be awarded. Any punishment less than life imprisonment in the case is insufficient and will not ensure justice.
