Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted on the incident, saying, "I have spoken to PM Modi and apprised him of the rescue operations. I am personally monitoring the situation for speedy rescue operations."

So far three people have died in a train accident in Domohani, West Bengal, while 20 people have been seriously injured. Meanwhile, from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot have expressed grief over the accident. Apart from this, many more leaders reacted to the incident.

What did PM Modi and the Railway Minister say?

Expressing grief over the accident, PM Narendra Modi said, "Spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and took stock of the situation in the wake of the train accident in West Bengal. My thoughts are with the bereaved families." At the same time, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted on the incident, saying, "I have spoken to PM Modi and apprised him of the rescue operations. I am personally monitoring the situation for speedy rescue operations." He further said, "Gas cutter evacuation teams and all the top officials are reaching the spot. We are trying to complete the rescue work soon. I will reach the spot tomorrow morning."

Mamta Banerjee said – All the big officers were engaged in relief work, while Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee tweeted and said, "The tragic accident with Bikaner-Guwahati Express in Mainagudi was a shock. All the senior officers of the state government, DM, SP, IG North Bengal is monitoring the relief and rescue operations. Medical services are being provided to those who are injured at the earliest." Mamta said that she herself is monitoring the incident from the state headquarters.

Ashok Gehlot said – I am saddened by the incident, whereas Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot also reacted to the accident. "Saddened to learn about the loss of lives of the passengers. My condolences to the families of the deceased. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery," he said.
