Anti-bomb squad has been called on the spot after the weapons were found.

After getting RDX in Gurdaspur, Punjab, now five kg RDX has been found in Dhanoa Kalan, a border village of Amritsar. It is being told that this explosive recovered on Friday morning was to be used to terrorize Punjab during the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections. This RDX was kept hidden in the field near the main road of the village.

STF AIG Rashpal Singh said that we had received information about drugs in a village near the Wagah-Attari border, but when we reached there, we found that it was an IED weighing about 5 kg. We have also recovered Rs 1 lakh. It has come from Pakistan, we are probing the matter.

After the recovery of the explosive, the Special Task Force (STF) team has started a search operation in the entire village. As soon as the information was received, SSP Rakesh Kaushal and other officers reached the spot and this village and the entire surrounding area, located a short distance from the Indo-Pak border, was converted into a police cantonment. Anti-bomb squad has been called on the spot after the weapons were found. On the other hand, the police have taken some suspects into custody and they are being interrogated.

Two and a half kg of explosives recovered in three days

Just before the elections in Punjab, terrorists are trying to carry out a big incident. After unearthing the terror module of ISYF, Punjab Police has recovered 2.5 kg RDX in three days from several places in the state. Along with this, a detonator, codex wire, 5 fuses, AK-47 rifle and 12 cartridges have also been recovered.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) VK Bhavra said on Thursday that the recovery was made on the confession of Amandeep Kumar alias Mantri, a resident of Lakhanpal village in Gurdaspur. He is the main accused in two incidents of grenade attacks that happened in Pathankot recently. SSP SBS Nagar Kanwardeep Kaur said that after Amandeep's revelation, teams were sent to Gurdaspur district and explosive material was recovered.

According to Amandeep, this material was to be used for making IED. The consignment was provided to Amandeep by self-proclaimed chief of ISYF (Rode) Lakhbir Singh Rode, who is currently residing in Pakistan, with the help of his accomplice and operator of this terrorist group Sukhpreet Singh alias Sukh resident of Dinanagar.
