The Jammu and Kashmir administration has issued orders for a complete ban on non-essential movement during the weekend, seeing the spread of corona infection increasing continuously. It is being announced continuously in the Jammu division including the main markets of Kashmir. Since morning, the police is getting the shops of non-essential items closed. Along with this, unnecessary movement has also been stopped.
In the last ten days, infected cases have increased ten times. Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta has appealed to the citizens of the state to stop unnecessary and non-essential movement and activities, especially during weekends. Along with this, the divisional and district administrations should take all necessary steps to ensure compliance with the Kovid protocol and SOP.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the Covid management by holding a meeting with the departmental officers. In the meeting, it was recommended by many District Deputy Commissioners to impose weekly lockdown. With this, it can be made effective in the coming days.
It was told that the number of infected cases is increasing rapidly in almost all the districts of the state. Chief Secretary asked to promote district COVID helpline numbers for people to get medical help through tele-consultation.
Along with this, other facilities should be developed including conducting mass awareness campaigns among the people and isolation centers at the panchayat level. The district administration should expedite the vaccination of 15 to 17 age group. RTPCR testing, isolation and other facilities were asked to be promoted. In the Har Ghar Dastak campaign, priority should be given to preventive doses in vulnerable populations.
