Dr. Vinod Scaria, senior scientist of IGIB based in New Delhi, expressed surprise and wrote on social media that three members of a family from Delhi are infected.

The drugs which were considered successful in corona treatment and were even included in the Covid protocol, none of them are effective. According to a pharma report, in the last two years, people have also consumed such drugs worth Rs 500 crore. Whereas, the side effect of some of these medicines was seen by the whole country in the form of black fungus.

Informing about the COVID treatment to the Excellence Centers across the country, Dr. Achal Kumar of AIIMS said that in two years, not only corona patients, but also people have taken medicines like 2DG, Favipiravir, Ivermectin and HCQ to avoid infection. have used. These drugs are not effective on mild or hospitalized patients of Covid.

New Delhi-based AIIMS believes that these medicines have been widely publicized in the country. Medicines with less scientific evidence also did business of crores of rupees. But, now AIIMS has come forward and questioned these medicines and advised to stay away from them. Appealing to other doctors of the country as well, AIIMS has appealed to abstain from these medicines.

Surprisingly, Dr. Vinod Scaria, senior scientist of IGIB based in New Delhi , who is giving Molnupiravir drug even in mild symptoms, expressed surprise and wrote on social media that three members of a family from Delhi are infected. All have been vaccinated, symptoms are also mild, doctor of a big hospital has advised them to take molanupiravir which is wrong, against ethics. On this, Dr. Neeraj Nischal of AIIMS said, all the medicines that have come up in Corona so far, they were allowed with conditions. Their evidence was scant. Such drugs should not be used indiscriminately at all.

Now the emphasis is only on evidence based medicines

In the first wave, HCQ drug was added to the Covid protocol. Former US President Trump also consumed it.When ivermectin-favipiravir was added to the protocol, side effects were observed during the second wave.

There is no evidence of 2DG anymore, the 2DG drug was launched by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the then Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan considered it a big success, but AIIMS Director said that there was a small study on the 2DG drug. Effects were observed in some patients, but no studies were conducted in severe patients. Therefore it cannot be included in daily medical practice in a way.

No antiviral oral medicine yet

There is no antiviral oral medicine yet. There were some studies with favipiravir, but we did not see any change in the patients. -Doctor. Randeep Guleria, AIIMS Director
