Let us inform that on Friday, the bank had announced that under the new rules, in the event of new recruitment, pregnant women candidates of more than 3 months will be considered temporarily ineligible. They can join the bank within 4 months after the delivery. These revised instructions for new recruitment were said to be applicable from 21 December 2021 and in the case of promotion from 1 April 2022.

Seeing the trouble, the State Bank of India on Saturday decided to put the circular related to the recruitment of pregnant women in cold storage. Many sections of the society, including labor organizations and the Women's Commission of Delhi, had demanded to repeal this provision, calling it anti-women. As the controversy escalated, SBI has decided to postpone the revised guidelines regarding recruitment of pregnant women candidates keeping in mind the sentiments of the public. SBI said in a statement that only the old rules regarding recruitment of pregnant women will be effective. He said that the purpose behind the amendment in the recruitment-related standards was to clear the situation on unclear or very old points.
