RCB won the toss and decided to bowl first.

In the 6th match of IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 3 wickets on Wednesday and registered their first win in the tournament. RCB first dismissed KKR for 128, then won the match by scoring 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 19.2 overs.

KKR yearn for RCB to win

RCB won the toss and decided to bowl first. Faf's decision proved to be correct and Kolkata's team was bundled out for only 128 runs. But the RCB team also had to make a lot of effort to achieve this small target. RCB got the win in the last over. Dinesh Karthik hit Russell for a six on the first ball of the 20th over and gave his team the first victory by hitting a four on the second ball. RCB had to lose the wicket of Anuj Rawat in the first over itself.

Rutherford was the top scorer for RCB

Hasranga was the hero of RCB's victory, scoring four wickets and four runs.

The hero of RCB's victory was Wanindu Hasranga. Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga took four wickets to bundle out Kolkata Knight Riders for 128 runs. Hasaranga, proving his worth of Rs 10 crore 75 lakh, took four wickets for 20 runs in four overs. Apart from them, Akash Deep took three, Harshal Patel took two and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket. KKR's batsmen, on the other hand, lost wickets in the pursuit of playing non-essential shots.

KKR lost the last 6 wickets for 57 runs

The two-time former champions lost the last six wickets for 57 runs. At one point his score was 44 runs for three wickets which was 14. 101 runs for nine wickets in 3 overs. Andre Russell scored 25 runs in 18 balls for KKR, while Umesh Yadav contributed 18 and Varun Chakraborty contributed 10 runs. The highest partnership for KKR was 27 runs between Umesh and Varun. Akash Deep took the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer on his very first ball. Mohammad Siraj gave the second blow to KKR by sending Ajinkya Rahane to the pavilion in the fifth over.
