In KV schools, now there will be no admission from other quota including MP, Education Minister, District Collector.
Now, in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KV) schools, admission will not be available from other quota including MP, Education Minister, District Collector. Now only seats will be available in KV under the reservation rules of SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Divyang, general category of the central government. According to a senior government official, from the academic session 2022-23, the quota of MP, Education Minister, Ministry of Education, sponsoring agencies, chairman, school management committees and district collector has been abolished.
Now admission seat will not be available under any of these quotas. Recently, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, while reviewing the performance of KV schools, found that due to such quota admissions, student-teacher ratio and teaching-learning quality are adversely affected. Apart from this, children of Central Government employees are also not able to get seats. The Education Minister was the first to announce the abolition of his quota. After that, there was talk of abolishing this quota in the Parliament. After consultation with all the parties, it has been decided to abolish the said quota.
Seat for those who are orphans in Corona
The provision of admission under the PM Care Children Scheme will continue for the children who have lost their parents due to the global pandemic Corona. Apart from this, Kashmiri migrants, soldiers, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, children of personnel serving in KVs, meritorious in the field of fine arts and sports and children receiving gallantry awards etc. will get admission under specific provisions. These admissions will also be done through the selection process.
