BCCI Bans Baria Majumdar: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has come into action against journalist Boral Majumdar, who threatened wicket-keeper cricketer Wriddhiman Saha . BCCI has banned this journalist for two years. It has been said that he will not be issued an accreditation card by the BCCI for two years. Nor will he be allowed to interact with any player.

This decision was taken in the meeting of the Supreme Council of BCCI. On Tuesday, BCCI CEO Hemang Amin wrote a letter to the sports associations, stating that Majumdar is being banned for two years. He will not be issued an accreditation card for any domestic or international match. Let us inform that cricketer Wriddhiman Saha had shared the messages with the board, in which the journalist had threatened.

Wriddhiman Saha later revealed the name of the journalist in an e-mail sent to the board members. The BCCI took cognizance of the matter and after its investigation decided to ban the journalist for two years. Such a decision was taken so that in future such incident does not happen again with any player. Journalist will no longer be able to interview any player (Indian or foreign).

Not only this, his entry in the office of any sports association affiliated to BCCI has been completely banned for two years. Let us inform that on February 19, after Wriddhiman Saha was dropped from the match against Sri Lanka, the journalist threatened him for not giving an interview. Wriddhiman Saha shared the screenshot of Twitter with BCCI.

After the matter came to light, cricketers like Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Venkatesh Prasad, Irfan Pathan raised their voice in favor of Wriddhiman. Also requested Wriddhiman Saha to reveal the name of the journalist who threatened him. However, Wriddhiman Saha had then said that he did not want to end his career by revealing the name of the journalist.

Following the complaint of Wriddhiman Saha, the BCCI constituted a three-member committee. The committee included BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, Treasurer Arun Singh Dhoom and Apace Council member Prabhtej Singh Bhatia. He gave his report after talking to both Saha and Majumdar. Based on his report, the BCCI has decided to ban the journalist for two years.
