Now many expensive tests including MRI, PAT scan will also be free for all the patients covered under Ayushman scheme.

There is good news for the patients undergoing treatment under Ayushman Yojana. Preparations are being made to change the plan. It has been decided to increase about 650 types of packages. Now many expensive tests including MRI, PAT scan will also be free for all the patients covered under the scheme. For this, the Union Health Ministry is going to increase the budget for investigation in Ayushman Yojana. Till now, the patient had to pay himself for the costly tests due to the fixed amount of Rs 5000 in a year for radiology examination. Now the fee for all types of radiological tests will also be added to the total package of treatment.

60% center and 40% state health department will give the amount

According to officials, the National Health Authority of the Central Government has sent its proposal to the State Health Department. However, a condition has been laid in this that 40 percent of the expenditure of this scheme will be paid by the Health Department of the state and 60 percent by the Union Health Ministry. On the other hand, in the Ayushman scheme, the fee for examination according to the disease will also be added to the package, so patients will not have to spend money for the examination. A list of about 650 types of packages to be added will be released soon. At the same time, Secretary of Health Department, Kaushal Kishore said that continuous relief is being given under the scheme. Several investigations are already covered under the plan. Now some other packages will also be added. There is talk of amendment in this. Patients registered under Ayushman can get free treatment up to five lakhs in government and private hospitals.

Patients used to have problems due to expensive investigations

Patients suffering from cancer, neuro and serious heart diseases were facing problems due to the fixed fee of five thousand rupees for the tests. Although related investigations were easily done in government hospitals, but some private hospitals used to shy away from conducting tests. If the relatives of the patient are to be believed, then MRI test is done in 3500 to 7 thousand rupees while PAT scan is done for 11 to 15 thousand rupees. CT scan is done in one to one and a half thousand rupees. In such a situation, it was difficult to get these tests done at a fixed rate.
