Senior bureaucrat Nidhi Chhibber was on Friday appointed as the chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in an administrative reshuffle by the central government.
Reshuffle in Union Bureaucracy: The Central Government on Saturday moved many top officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) while making a major reshuffle in the bureaucracy. In an administrative reshuffle by the Centre, senior bureaucrat Nidhi Chhibber was on Friday appointed as the chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Nidhi Chhibber is a 1994 batch IAS officer
Chhibber, a 1994 batch Indian Administrative Service officer of Chhattisgarh cadre, is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries. An order issued by the Personnel Ministry said that Nidhi Chhibber has been appointed as the Chairperson of CBSE in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.
Vivek Kumar Devangan appointed as Managing Director of RES Limited
At the same time, Vivek Kumar Devangan, a 1993 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, has been made the Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited in the Ministry of Power. He is currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Power.
A total of 17 officers were appointed
S Gopalakrishnan, Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the reshuffle on Friday, a total of 17 officers of the level of Joint Secretary and Additional Secretary have been appointed on various posts in Central Government Departments and Organizations.
