Quinton de Kock's unmatched century and his great opening partnership with captain KL Rahul helped Lucknow Super Giants post a mammoth 210 for no loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In the 66th match ofIPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 runs and entered the playoffs on the basis of Deacock's stormy century .Chasing the huge score of Lucknow, KKR's team could score only 208 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets.

The decision of the match on the last ball

The match was decided on the last ball.In the 20th over, KKR needed 21 runs off 6 balls to win.Rinku Singh hit a four off the first ball of Stoynics.Then scored two sixes in two consecutive balls.KKR needed 5 runs in 3 balls.Rinku took two runs off the fourth ball.Now in 2 balls, KKR needed 3 runs to win.Rinku Singh got out on the fifth ball after scoring 40 runs.Then on the last ball, Stoynics bowled Umesh Yadav and thus Lucknow won the match by 2 runs.

Captain Shreyas Iyer scored 50 runs for KKR.Apart from this, Nitish Rana scored 42, Billings 36 and Rinku Singh played a stormy innings of 40 runs.Whereas Mohsin Khan and Stonyx took three wickets each for Lucknow.Bishnoi and Krishnappa Gautam took one wicket each.

Quinton de Kock's unmatched century and his partnership with captain KL Rahul for the first wicket helped Lucknow Super Giants score a mammoth 210 for no loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).De Kock scored an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls after getting three lives, which is the highest score of his T20 career.The South African wicket-keeper batsman scored runs at a strike rate of 200 and hit 10 sixes and as many fours as he displayed an unmatched example of his six-hitting skills.

KL Rahul scored the first third half-century of the season

Rahul played an unbeaten 68 off 51 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.This is the first time in IPL that a team batting first has not lost any wicket in the entire 20 overs.De Kock and Rahul shared the highest partnership for the first wicket and the third highest overall in IPL.

Rahul and De Kock gave a stormy start to Lucknow

Rahul and De Kock won the toss and elected to bat first, gave a very good start to the Lucknow team.Both of them added 44 runs in the powerplay.When de Kock was on 12, he got a lifeline, which he celebrated by hitting a six on Umesh Yadav.Rahul also sent the ball for six runs in the next over of this bowler.De Kock welcomed Andre Russell with a six, while Rahul displayed his aggressive attitude by hitting two consecutive sixes on Tim Southee and meanwhile took his run count beyond 500 in the current season.

De Kock completed his fifty off 36 balls and hit Sunil Narine for a six and took the team's score to triple digits in the 13th over.He punished KKR by hitting two sixes and a four on Varun Chakraborty after getting another lifeline off Narayan's ball.Meanwhile, Rahul completed his fifty in 41 balls.De Kock now targeted Russell and hit him for a six and then a four to complete his second century in the IPL, for which he played 59 balls.After hitting three consecutive sixes on Saudi, he hit four consecutive fours on Russell.Meanwhile, he got life for the third time.
