The dream of Ram devotees is being fulfilled by passing through many historical stages

After 493 years, Ayodhya has again turned the page of its history. For whose place the struggle went on for five hundred years, the construction of Ramlala's grand house will be started on June 1 by CM Yogi Adityanath. This dream of Ram devotees is being fulfilled by passing through many historical stages. With the worship of Shila Puja for the sanctum sanctorum, a new phase of elevation of the prestige of the honor of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is about to begin. The path of the movement was not easy, after independence there was a long trial. This dream came to fruition with the decision in favor of Ram temple on 9 November 2019.

In 1528, Mir Baqi, the commander of the Mughal invader Babur, broke the structure of the Ram temple and built the Babri Masjid here. After this, in 1885, this matter reached the court for the first time during the British rule. The case fought a legal battle of 135 years. The real legal battle started after independence. The fighting intensified after the appearance of the idol of Lord Ramla inside the mosque in 1949. The government declared this place as disputed and put it under lock. After this the movement for the temple continued. December 6, 1992 when lakhs of kar sevaks demolished the disputed structure.

The next major turning point in the dispute came on 30 September 2010, when the Allahabad High Court delivered its verdict on the disputed 2.77 acres of land. The court decided to divide this land into 3 parts. In this, the major part was considered as Ram Janmasthan and it was decided to give one-third of the land to Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas. At the same time, it was decided to give one-third of the land to the Nirmohi Akhara and one-third to the Muslim side. However, none of the parties liked this decision and appealed against it in the Supreme Court.

Finally, on 9 November 2019, the Supreme Court gave its historic verdict and unanimously ordered the disputed 2.77 acre site to be handed over to the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas, describing it as Ram Janmasthan. Along with this, the court ordered the formation of a trust to the central government and ordered the Muslim side to give 5 acres of land for the mosque. With this, the way was paved for the construction of Ram temple and the fulfillment of the resolve of the devotees of Ram.

JG Ramdineshacharya says that although the whole earth is the home of Lord Shri Ram, but the 2.77 acres of land where he was born is the soul of Shri Ram. In such a situation, along with the construction of the temple, the soul of the Supreme Being is awakening, which will pave the way for the welfare of not only Ayodhya but the whole world. Ramlala had to struggle for his home for five hundred years, this long journey is getting a happy culmination in the form of temple construction. (Dialogue)

On August 5, 2020, PM Modi did Bhoomi Pujan, in February 2020, the Central Government established a trust named Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was elected as the chairman of the trust, who was also the chairman of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas. Champat Rai, who was associated with VHP for years as General Secretary, was given the responsibility. After the formation of the trust, the exercise of construction of Ram temple started. The same trust finally announced Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone on August 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first Prime Minister to visit Ram Janmabhoomi and started the work of Ram temple by performing Bhoomi Pujan.

The construction of Ram temple is paving the way for the construction of the nation's temple. The whole country is ready to surrender body, mind and money for the construction of Ram temple. The dedication of thousands of crores of funds for the construction of the temple is a witness to this. Now there is only the desire to see our Lord seated in the supernatural sanctum sanctorum.

- Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust

The construction of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is a historic act to protect, preserve and promote cultural nationalism based on a holistic, philanthropic and syncretic culture. This will ensure the national unity and integrity of the country. The coming generations will see the construction of Ram Mandir as a pioneering work for cultural freedom and national reconstruction.
Champat Rai, General Secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust

The construction of Ram temple is the result of centuries of struggle. In the form of temple construction, that imagination is taking shape which was once unimaginable. The construction of Ram temple is also paving the way for the restoration of the glory of Sanatan culture. The path of its construction has been very difficult, it is a matter of pride to witness the construction of the temple.

-Dr. Anil Mishra, Trustee, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust

The existence of Ram temple till the 14th century

Ayodhya was earlier the capital of Kaushal district. It is mentioned in the Balkand of Valmiki's Ramayana that Ayodhya was 12 yojanas long and three yojanas wide. Ayodhyapuri is described in detail in Valmiki Ramayana. In the Ramayana, there is a mention of the city of Ayodhya being settled on the banks of Saryu and the city being grand and prosperous. Everyone's house was like a palace. This Mahapuri was twelve yojanas (96 miles) wide. Like Indra's Amaravati, Maharaj Dasaratha had decorated this puri.

It is said that Ayodhya had become desolate for some time after Lord Shri Ram took water samadhi, but the palace built on his birthplace was the same as it was. Kush, the son of Lord Shri Ram, once again got the capital Ayodhya rebuilt. After this construction, its existence remained at its peak for the next 44 generations of Suryavansh till the last king, Maharaja Brihadbala. Kaushalraj Brihadbal died in the Mahabharata war at the hands of Abhimanyu. Ayodhya was ruined after the war of Mahabharata, but the existence of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi still remained.

About 100 years before Christ, Chakravarti Emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjain reached Ayodhya while hunting one day. He started seeing some miracles in this land. Then he started searching and by the grace of nearby yogis and saints he came to know that this is the Avadh land of Shri Ram. On the instructions of those saints, the emperor built a grand temple here as well as wells, lakes, palaces etc.

He had built a huge temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi on 84 pillars with black colored Kasauti stone. The grandeur of this temple was made on sight. After this, King Jaichand came to Kanauj in the 11th century AD, he got his name written by uprooting the inscription of Emperor Vikramaditya on the temple. Jaichand also came to an end after the battle of Panipat. After this the invasion of invaders on India increased further. The invaders looted Kashi, Mathura as well as Ayodhya and continued the process of destroying the idols by killing the priests.

But till the 14th century they were not able to break the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Even after various invasions, the grand temple built on the birthplace of Shri Ram survived till the 14th century, facing all the storms. Finally, in 1527-28, the grand temple in Ayodhya was demolished and replaced by the Babri structure, which existed till 1992. According to Baburnama, in 1528, during the Ayodhya halt, Babur ordered the construction of the mosque.
