On the fifth day before the uproar over the Agneepath scheme of the Central Government, the trains leaving/arriving from the Central Railway jurisdiction did not operate. Apart from Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti opening from Rajendra Nagar, 393 trains were canceled on other railway sections of Poomre including Shramjeevi, Magadha. Passengers remained upset due to non-running of trains. For the convenience of passengers from such railways, some trains were operated towards New Delhi on Sunday night. On the same day, four trains running in Down got relief to the stranded passengers at Patna Junction going in that direction. . The railways had issued information earlier than the information about the cancellation of trains.

Tight security arrangements at the junction

Tight arrangements were made for security at Patna Junction. Two hundred police personnel were deployed in the platform and premises including both ends of the junction. RPF IG S Mayank and DRM Danapur Prabhat Kumar took stock with the officers. Food packets and water were provided to the stranded passengers at the junction. Railway officials were busy for this.

10 trains operated in the night

10 trains passed from Patna Junction on Sunday night. It was dispatched as per the earlier announcement of the running of trains at night. This included Bhagalpur-Anand Vihar Vikramshila Express, Howrah-New Delhi Rajdhani, Bhagalpur-Lokmanya Tilak, Kumbh Express, Asansol-Mumbai, Mahananda Express, Lokmanya Tilak-Raxaul, Prayagraj-Howrah, Punjab Mail and Mahananda Express. Bhagalpur, Ajmer-Bhagalpur, Okha-Guwahati and Dadar-Guwahati were operational.

Eight trains ran to rescue stranded passengers

Eight special trains were operated by East Central Railway from Jhajha, Dhanbad and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay to rescue the stranded passengers. On Sunday night, special trains were run from Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay to Pune, Vasco-da-Gama, Bangalore and Purna Junction, Jhajha to Shalimar and Dhanbad to Hatia. A special train will leave from DDU for Secunderabad on Monday morning.

Railways helped the passengers

Due to the cancellation of trains, water, tea and food were provided to the stranded passengers at the station. Food packets and water were provided to the stranded passengers at Patna Junction. Railway officials were ready for this. Compared to the last two days, the number of passengers at the junction was less.
