The Ministry of AYUSH has selected the theme “Yoga for Humanity” for the 8th International Yoga Day 2022 to be held in India and the entire world war on 21 June 2022. The theme of International Yoga Day 2022 is "Yoga for Humanity".

History of International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day was first proposed by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in the United Nations General Assembly. This proposal was placed on 27 September 2014. After considering this proposal, the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 2014 declared 21 June as International Yoga Day or World Yoga Day. The first International Yoga Day was celebrated in 2015.
Major events under International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2022
The 8th edition of International Day of Yoga (IDY2022) is being promoted by the Ministry of AYUSH in collaboration with Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga through several programs.
To celebrate the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence for the first time, it will showcase yoga at 75 heritage/iconic cultural sites on 21st June, International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2022.
