Talking about the Lok Sabha elections, the voters made Mulayam Singh Yadav MP from here even in the Modi wave of 2014.

Azamgarh By-Election 2022: Voting is to be held for the Lok Sabha by-elections in two Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh in Azamgarh and Rampur today. After the assembly elections in UP, the contest for the Lok Sabha by-elections to be held on two seats has become very interesting. The reputation of SP is at stake in Azamgarh and Rampur. Both Azamgarh and Rampur have been like impregnable fortresses of the SP, which did not leave the support of the Samajwadi Party even in difficult times.

The by-elections to be held in Rampur and Azamgarh parliamentary seats are being seen as a litmus test before the 2024 elections. In this by-election from Azamgarh, SP's Dharmendra Yadav, BSP's Guddu Jamali and BJP's Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhua have been fielded. Let us tell you that Azamgarh is such a strong bastion of SP which has supported the SP even in the fierce wave of BJP.

Why Azamgarh is a stronghold of SP?

Let us tell you that in the last election of 2017 in Azamgarh even in the strong wave of BJP, Samajwadi Party had won the maximum five seats. Four seats were won by BSP, while BJP could win only Phulpur Powai seat. At the same time, in the 2022 assembly elections, the SP waved its flag in all 10 seats. On the other hand, if we talk about the Lok Sabha elections, then in the Modi wave of 2014, Mulayam Singh Yadav made him an MP from here. At the same time, in 2019, Akhilesh Yadav himself reached Parliament after winning the election from here.

Azamgarh is considered as the safest and strongest stronghold. In the last few years, BJP decided to destroy this strong fort of Akhilesh. In the changed situation, repeating and increasing the previous performance in Azamgarh is no less than a big challenge for Akhilesh. It can be said that this time Akhilesh Yadav's ordeal is to be tested in the strong bastion of socialism, which is called the center point of Purvanchal's politics. Whether or not Akhilesh passes in this or not will be decided by the results of the by-elections. However, BJP is trying every political bet this time to siege Akhilesh in Azamgarh.
