SP President Akhilesh Yadav has alleged rigging in the Lok Sabha by-elections.

UP Lok Sabha Up Election 2022: Samajwadi Party's National President and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav have questioned the role of the Election Commission after the polling for Azamgarh and Rampur Lok Sabha by-elections is over. He said that the BJP government left no stone unturned in misusing the power in the Lok Sabha by-elections of Azamgarh and Rampur.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the police and administration erected all kinds of obstacles to influence the voting. Party workers were harassed by the local police and undue pressure was put on them to vote in favor of the BJP. Despite complaints made to the Election Commission of India, the election machinery remained a mute spectator at many polling stations. Yet the voters have done the job of defeating the BJP.

Fake voting by capturing polling stations

The SP president said that free and fair elections have been put on hold to benefit the ruling party. Voters were not allowed to vote fearlessly. BJP is working to weaken all constitutional institutions in a systematic manner. The police administration is obstructing voting. Fake voting was done by capturing the polling stations. Defects in EVMs were found at many booths.

All the booth agents of the Samajwadi Party were thrown out under a conspiracy from all the polling stations of Gopalpur, Sagdi, Mubarakpur, Azamgarh, Mehnagar assembly constituencies of Azamgarh Lok Sabha. The BLO was seen pressurizing the polling booth of DAV Degree College Azamgarh to vote in favor of BJP. Voters were prevented from casting their votes in Tanda, where polling was stopped.

Fearing defeat, BJP is influencing voters

Akhilesh Yadav has alleged that the BJP government, fearing its defeat in the by-polls, prevented voters from voting in Rampur ke Swar to influence the turnout. Minority women voters were prevented from voting. In the Hardayal area of Swar, despite having voter slips with women voters, the incident of stopping them from casting their votes and snatching the slips is condemnable.

At the Narpat Nagar center of Swar, the police resorted to lathi-charge and tried to obstruct the voting by creating an atmosphere of fear. Seeing its sinking boat, BJP is trying to rig and tarnish fair and free elections. The public is now confident of winning the Samajwadi Party candidates with a huge vote to teach a lesson to the BJP.
