Telangana CM and TRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao has played an important role in making Sinha the common candidate of the opposition.

Politics is hot in Telangana between the ruling TRS and the opposition BJP. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi will reach Hyderabad today to attend the BJP's national executive meeting. On the other hand, Yashwant Sinha, the joint presidential candidate of the opposition, will also reach Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad. Only one minister of the state will go to welcome Modi, while the entire cabinet including CM KCR will go to pick up Sinha.

Sinha will reach Begumpet airport a few hours before PM Modi's arrival. There he will be given a grand welcome by the state government. CM KCR himself and all his ministers will be present on this occasion. On the other hand, only one minister will go to the airport from the state government to receive PM Modi. Usually, when the Prime Minister reaches the capital of a state, apart from the Governor, the CM and the ministers of the state also go to the airport to welcome him. KCR has already avoided going to the airport during PM Modi's visit.

Violation of protocol for the third time

This is the third time in six months that CM KCR will not follow the protocol during PM Modi's visit. Earlier, PM Modi had come to Telangana to attend the 20th annual function of the Indian School of Business, then KCR moved to Bengaluru. Earlier, even during PM's visit to Hyderabad in February, KCR did not reach to receive him.

KCR has declared Sinha's support in the presidential election. Rao, Telangana CM and TRS chief, played a key role in making Sinha a common opposition candidate. Sinha is up against the ruling NDA's candidate Draupadi Murmu at the Center in the presidential election to be held on July 18. Murmu also has the support of many other non-NDA parties including BJD, Akali Dal.
