Varun Chakravarthy is a spinner bowler from Tamil Nadu. He was born on 29 August 1991 in a middle class family in Bidar, Karnataka. Varun also used to play cricket while studying in school. He was very interested in cricket. At the age of 13, he used to play cricket as a wicket-keeper batsman. He played cricket till the age of 17. But he had to face rejections many times in age group cricket. Seeing his failure, the family asked him to concentrate on studies. The pressure of the family was on him. Disappointed, Varun gave up his dream of making a career in cricket.

Then hardly anyone gets anything ahead of time. For the time being, leaving cricket, Varun started focusing on his studies. He took his admission in SRM University, Chennai. She studied architecture for 5 years. After completing his studies, he started working in the architecture sector. He did not like to work from 10 to 6 in the morning. In this tournament, Varun troubled the batsmen a lot while bowling brilliantly. Due to his deadly bowling, he got 31 wickets in just 7 matches. During this, he gave runs with an economy of only 3.06. Despite making a comeback after years, he had performed brilliantly with his hard work and dedication. This 30-year-old player also got the fruits of his hard work. Got a chance to show his ability from Madurai Panthers in Tamil Nadu Premier League. Varun got a lot of discussions on the strength of his stellar performance in this tournament. Varun played an important role in getting his team the title that year. In the final match of the TPL tournament, Varun took 2 wickets giving 9 runs in 4 overs while bowling brilliantly. In this league, he scored runs at an average of less than 5.

There was a competition to buy Varun in the auction for IPL 2019. In the end, Kings XI Punjab included Varun in their team by paying an expensive price of Rs 8.4 crores. In IPL 2019, Varun had created a lot of buzz by becoming the most expensive uncap player.
