State's 15th new medical college will open in Supaul, 24 proposals approved in cabinet meeting

A new Government Medical College Hospital will open in Supaul district in the state. In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, 24 proposals were approved. Approval has been given for the construction of new Lohia Medical College Hospital in Supaul district. For this, administrative approval of the scheme has been given in the financial year 2022-23 at a total cost of 603 crore 68 lakh.

Rainwater drainage will be done by dividing Patna into nine zones 

The newly established Lohia Medical College Hospital in Supaul will be the 15th government institute of the state, whose construction work will be done. So far, the work of setting up 14 medical colleges in the state is in the pipeline. In this, the approval of Siwan, Bhojpur, Buxar, Sitamarhi, Jamui, Mahua (Vaishali), Jhanjharpur (Madhubani), Samastipur, Purnia, Chapra, Siwan, Motihari, Munger and Begusarai has already been given. So far, 12 medical college hospitals have been recognized in the government sector in the state.

957 crore plan approved to remove water logging in Patna

Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Department, Dr S Siddhartha said that the cabinet has approved a plan of Rs 957 crore to remove the water logging in the capital during the rains. Under this, an integrated plan was made to remove the water logging in the capital during the rainy season. After the suggestion of the consultant, nine containment zones for water logging in Patna were marked. For this, an approval of one thousand crore was given to Patna from the state plan.

115 crore 67 lakh approved

In the first zone, drainage management is to be developed in the surrounding area including Patna Municipal Corporation area, Khagaul, Danapur and Phulwarisharif. With this, the problem of water logging of about 1912 hectares of area from Patna Municipal Corporation area, Patel Nagar, Patliputra Colony, Boring Road, Rajapul, Anandpuri, Buddha Colony, Lodhipur, Gandhi Maidan, Bailey Road to Patna Junction of Patna area was resolved. Can go An amount of 115 crore 67 lakh has been approved for this.
