Ajmer Police has arrested Khadim Salman Chishti, who threatened to kill former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma. Ajmer Police has taken this action late night. Salman Chishti was absconding after the video of the threat went viral. ASP Vikas Sangwan has confirmed the arrest of Salman Chishti.
ASP Vikas Sangwan said, “We had received information that a misleading and objectionable video has been put up by Salman Chishti, Khadim of the Dargah, after which an FIR was registered in the matter. He told that Salman Chishti has been caught from his house. Inquiry continues. He had made some objectionable remarks on Nupur Sharma's relation. The police officer said, it appears that Salman Chishti made this video while intoxicated. Salman Chishti is also a history-sheeter and has 13 cases registered against him.

In the video he is saying that 'time is not the same, otherwise he does not speak, I swear by my mother who gave birth to me, I would have shot her publicly, I swear by my children, I would have shot her and even today I say with chest thumping, whoever brings Nupur Sharma's neck, I will give him my house and go out on the way, promises Salman.

The slogan was raised "Gustakh-e-Rasool ki yehi punishment, sir tan se juda, sar tan se juda" after which Kanhaiya Lal was murdered in Udaipur.
