The Indian women's cricket team defeated hosts Sri Lanka by 39 runs in the third and final ODI to achieve a 3-0 clean sweep in the three-match series.

Nilakshi de Silva was the top scorer for Sri Lanka, who scored 48 runs in 59 balls.Apart from them, Captain Chamari Atapattu scored 44 runs, Hasini Perera made 39 and Harshita Samarawickrama scored 22 runs.Rajeshwari Gaikwad took three wickets for 36 runs in 10 overs for the Indian team.At the same time, Meghna Singh and Pooja Vastrakar got two each while captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma and Harleen Deol got one success each.

Earlier, electing to bat after losing the toss, the Indian team had lost their six wickets for 124 runs at one point.However, after this Pooja Vastrakar came at number eight and played a half-century innings to take the team to a respectable score.With this innings, Pooja has made a world record in her name.Pooja has become the female cricketer with the most fifties at number eight or below.

22-year-old Pooja played an unbeaten innings of 56 runs in 65 balls.During this, he also hit three sixes.This is Pooja's second half-century while batting at number eight.Apart from this, she has also scored a fifty at number nine.Pooja now has three half-centuries at number 8 or below, which is a world record.Prior to Pooja, the record was held by Nicole Brown of New Zealand, who has two half-centuries to her name at number eight.

Apart from Pooja, captain Harmanpreet Kaur also played an innings of 75 runs.He hit 7 fours and two sixes in 88 balls.Harmanpreet was awarded the Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding innings.At the same time, Smriti Mandhana was dismissed after scoring 6 runs while Shefali Verma contributed 49 and Yastika Bhatia contributed 30 runs.Pooja and Harmanpreet shared a 97-run partnership.India had also won the T20 series 2-1 before the ODI series.
