Singer Daler Mehndi's troubles have increased. He has been sentenced to two years in prison in a 19-year-old human trafficking case. The Patiala House Court on Thursday upheld the lower court's 2018 verdict that sentenced Daler Mehndi to two years' imprisonment in a 19-year-old human trafficking case. The court had convicted Daler Mehndi in a case related to pigeon pelting in 2003.

During the investigation, the name of Daler Mehndi also came up in the human trafficking case. A case was registered against him in 2003 and after 15 years in 2018, the lower court sentenced Singer to 2 years imprisonment, which has now been upheld by the sessions court as well. However, Daler Mehndi has the option to challenge the decision in the High Court and Supreme Court as per the rules.

According to media reports, Daler Mehndi and Shamsher used to take people abroad illegally by pretending to be their crew members. Mehndi and his brother did shows in America twice during 1998 and 1999 and during that time he reached there with his entire team. During this, he had illegally left 10 members of his group there. Daler, who was on a trip to the US with an actress, allegedly dropped off three girls in San Francisco. In October 1999, both the brothers once again went to America with some artists and during this time three boys were left in New Jersey. On September 19, 2003, an FIR was registered against Shamsher Mehndi, elder brother of Daler Mehndi. In the interrogation, the name of Daler Mehndi also came up in this case.
