The Border Security Force (BSF) has arrested an infiltrator from Pakistan with the intention of killing Suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nupur Sharma from Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan. The name of this person has been described as Rizwan Ashraf. Five agencies are interrogating this intruder.

BSF caught on the intervening night of 16-17 July
Sri Ganganagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Anand Sharma said that on the intervening night of July 16-17, a person was arrested from near the border. He has been identified as Rizwan Ashraf (24). He is a resident of Kuthiyal Sheikh of Pakistan. Two knives were recovered from his bag.

SP Anand Sharma told that Rizwan crossed the border and came to India due to religious fanaticism. He told that he entered the Indian border to punish Nupur Sharma for her statements. But, he did not even know where Nupur Sharma lived.
