Patna. Monsoon has become active again in Bihar after 18 days. In the last 24 hours, 17 districts of Bihar have recorded rain. Due to this, a drop of two to five degrees has been recorded in the maximum temperature of the state. On Thursday, there is a possibility of heavy rain at most places in the south-west and north-west of the state.

The center of pressure remained on Jharkhand

There is an alert of thunder at some places in southern and eastern Bihar. According to IMD, a trough line is passing through Patna in Bihar. The center of cyclonic pressure is over Jharkhand, which is shifting towards south. Under their influence, rain activities will continue on Thursday. However, the monsoon is not yet fully active. This monsoon may weaken from Friday.

CM expressed grief over the death of five due to lightning

In five districts of the state, five people died due to the lightning. This includes one death each in Siwan, Samastipur, Gaya, Khagaria and Saran. Here, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed deep condolences to the families for the death due to the lightning. The Chief Minister has directed to give an ex-gratia grant of Rs.4 lakh each to the kin of all the deceased.

Patna received 3.9 mm of rain

On Wednesday afternoon, the people got relief from the sultry heat due to rain in the afternoon. The rain brought down the temperature by two degrees. In different areas in the city, there was heavy rain and light rain at some places. This led to water logging in the low-lying areas including Chirayatand, Karbighiya, Kankarbagh, Lohanipur, Bihari Saw Lane, Ram Ghulam Chowk, JP Golambar, Birla Mandir Road, Hathua Market, near Loyla School.

Patna's maximum temperature was 35 degree Celsius

According to the Meteorological Department, the district received 3.9 mm of rain. According to the statistics department, according to the measured manual, 61.2 mm of rain was received in Patna Sadar area, 62.8 mm in Kankarbagh. Whereas Phulwari received 5.4 mm of rain, Danapur 10.4 mm. After the heavy rain in the afternoon, there was sporadic rain till around 6 pm. The maximum temperature of Patna on Wednesday was 35 degree Celsius.

Water logging in many areas

Due to the heavy rain in the afternoon, water got accumulated in the low-lying area. Water logging occurred at Chirayatand, Kankarbagh, Karbighia, Lohanipur, Bihari Saw Lane, Ram Ghulam Chowk, JP Golambar, Birla Mandir Road, Hathua Market, near Loyla School. Water was drained out by installing pumps in these areas. From many places water could be drawn till evening.
