President Election Result 2022: Election Commission will issue election certificate to Draupadi Murmu today

The certificate is issued after the Returning Officer submits the result to the Election Commission.

Draupadi Murmu, Chief Ministers and senior leaders of different states of the country congratulate him on being elected the 15th President of the country. The Election Commission will issue the 'Certificate of Election' to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Draupadi Murmu on Friday i.e. today. Murmu has emerged victorious in the presidential election. The certificate is issued after the Returning Officer submits the result to the Election Commission. It will be signed by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey. The certificate will then be sent to the Union Home Secretary, who will read it at the swearing-in ceremony of the 15th President of India. The swearing-in ceremony is likely to be held on July 25 at the historic Central Hall of Parliament House. The term of the current President Ram Nath Kovind ends on July 24.

Defeated Yashwant Sinha in a one-sided match

Draupadi Murmu on Thursday created history by becoming India's first tribal president in a one-sided contest by defeating opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha. Murmu (64) got over 64 percent of valid votes in a day's counting of ballots of MPs and MLAs including the electoral college to become the country's 15th President after Ram Nath Kovind and won against Sinha by a huge margin. Returning officer PC Modi declared Murmu the winner after the over 10 hours long vote counting process was over and said he got 6,76,803 votes against Sinha's 3,80,177 votes. She will be the first president born after independence and the youngest to hold the top post. She is also the second woman after Pratibha Patil to become the President.

BJP leaders described Murmu's victory as historic and golden

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders termed the victory of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election as historic and golden and underlined her general background and hoped that her tenure would make the country more proud. Several senior party leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda also met Murmu and congratulated him on the victory.
