Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta has suspended Dr Arun Kumar, Medical Superintendent of MGM Medical College.

Ranchi: Health Minister Banna Gupta has ordered suspension of Dr Arun Kumar, Medical Superintendent of MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur with immediate effect. At the same time, the charge of the administrator of the hospital has been given to Nandkishore Lal, ADM Law and Order (Additional Collector). This decision was taken on Monday after a review meeting chaired by Health Minister Banna Gupta and Additional Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh at Nepal House.

Health Minister Shri Gupta made it clear that no medical officer and employee will be spared for being negligent in work. He directed to transfer the tables of class III and IV employees posted in the hospital over the years.

East Singhbhum DC will assess the dilapidated building of MGM Hospital premises

It also gave its consent for the purchase of equipment to enhance the testing facility at MGM. For this, the Health Secretary was directed to get equipment and machines worth Rs 11.78 crore through Khari Corporation. At the same time, furniture worth 2.29 crores was also asked to be purchased. Apart from this, the responsibility of assessing the dilapidated building of MGM Hospital complex and its repair was given to East Singhbhum DC. They have been asked to inspect the site and submit the report immediately.

Cardiology and cancer department will start on PPP mode

Health Minister Shri Gupta asked to start the Department of Cardiology and Cancer on PPP mode to increase the medical facility in the medical college. Directed to set up cathlab. An order was also issued to allot the amount for the outstanding pay scale of junior doctors working in MGM Hospital. In the meeting, apart from the Minister, Health Secretary, the Superintendent of the Hospital, Deputy Superintendent, Joint Secretary Alok Trivedi and several health officials of MGM were present.

There was a discussion on the appointment of employees through outsourcing

Manpower in MGM Hospital was reviewed in the review meeting. Officials said that there is a shortage of staff in the hospital, which makes it difficult to provide medical services. After this, the status and manpower of the outsourced company operating at present was assessed. At the same time, East Singhbhum DC was asked to submit a report.
