CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday reviewed the status of revenue collection with the officials of the state tax department.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a big relief for the people of the state suffering from rising inflation in the state. CM has given instructions that now there will be no increase in the price of petrol and diesel in the state. He said that keeping in mind the public interest, we have not increased the rate of VAT and imposed any new tax in the state. Today the lowest VAT rate on petrol and diesel is in UP. There will be no increase in VAT in the coming time also. He said that efforts should be made to increase the revenue collection zone-wise.

CM Yogi held a meeting regarding revenue collection

CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the updated status of revenue collection with the officials of the State Tax Department at his official residence on Friday, July 29. During this, he has given instructions for strict action against such people who are continuously stealing in SGST. He said that to increase revenue collection, weekly targets should be given to the field officers from the government level. Also, weekly review should be done. Prepared separate reports of raid action and revenue collection, which could know where how many raids took place and how much was collected.

Strict action will be taken against those who evade GST

The Chief Minister inquired from all the zone commissioners at the residence about the registration status of traders in GST, GST and VAT collection, efforts being made to check tax evasion in the zone under their charge. Also said that there is a need to increase awareness to stop the attempts of SGST evasion and evasion. He said that first by doing recce, collect solid information, only then raids should be taken. For this, intelligence will have to be improved further.

These districts did a good job in revenue collection

During this, CM Yogi said that in the revenue collection, Bareilly, Agra, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya zones have made good efforts to achieve the target. The best practices of these districts should be adopted by other zones as well. He said that many big projects of industrial development are going on in areas like Jhansi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Kanpur, Ghaziabad. There are more possibilities here. Strict steps should be taken as soon as possible to check tax evasion.
