CBI Raid: 6 teams of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided several places in Birbhum, West Bengal on Wednesday morning. From Ratan Kutir Guest House in Shantiniketan, officials of the Central Investigation Agency were divided into two teams and went to Basapada and Siuri in Nanur. Raids were conducted at the house of a businessman and a close aide of District Trinamool Congress President Anubrat Mandal.
Raid on the house of stone trader
It is said that a team of Central Investigating Officer has raided the house of former Trinamool Zilla Parishad Construction Officer Karim Khan, accused in the animal smuggling case and stone trader Tulu Mandal located at Dalil Bhawan in Ravindrapalli of Siouri police station. It is said that the officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation were the first to reach the Ratan Kutir guest house of Visva Bharati in Shantiniketan.
Two teams headed towards Nanur and Siuri
6 teams of the Central Investigation Agency left here on Wednesday morning in 10 cars. Two teams of officers were formed to protect the personnel of the Central Force. One team headed towards Nanur, while the other team left for Siuri.
Investigating agency officials reached Karim Khan's house
It is said that the officials of the Central Investigation Agency reached the house of Nirman Karim Khan, the director of the Zilla Parishad, accused of the Birbhum animal smuggling case, in Pasa, Nanur. Incidentally, this Karim Khan was also made an accused in the post-election violence.
Tulu Mandal is close to Anubrata
On the other hand, CBI officers also raided the house of stone trader Tulu Mandal. It is worth noting that both of them are considered close to Trinamool's Birbhum district president Anubrat Mandal. However, it is not yet known in which case the CBI is actually investigating.
Searches conducted at the houses of Tulu Mandal
The house of businessman Tulu Mandal was also searched at Sanatanpada and Subhashpally in Siouri. However, the businessman was not found in all the three houses. No information has been received about why the ED is eyeing businessman Tulu Mandal. ED officials are not saying anything about this. It is known that both Tulu Mandal and Karim are close to Birbhum district Trinamool President Anubrat Mandal.
