Three to four youths set a van on fire in Manipur's Bishnupur. Since then the situation in the state has become tense.

Tension prevailed in the state after three to four youths set a van on fire in Manipur's Bishnupur. After this the state government has stopped internet services for five days in the entire state.

It is being told that the youths who set the van on fire belonged to a particular community, after which the communal situation in the entire state has become tense. Apart from this, the administration has also imposed Section 144 in Churachandpur and Bishnupur for the next two months. 

Messages were becoming increasingly viral on social media

The order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs said that a burning van was found in Pazhugakcho Ikhai Awang Leikai at 3:35 pm on Saturday. The van was allegedly set ablaze by three-four youths, who belonged to a particular community. After this, various types of messages started going viral through social media to instigate people. After this mobile internet services have been disrupted. At the same time people have been appealed not to pay heed to rumours.
