One Rank One Pension Scheme Latest Update: There is a long discussion going on across the country regarding One Rank One Pension Scheme. Now a big update has come on this. Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt has said an important thing in reply to a question in Lok Sabha. Rajmohan Unnithan in Parliament asked- Will the Minister of Raksha Mantri be pleased to state what is the current status of implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme? Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State in the Ministry of Defense said- Government has implemented One Rank One Pension (OROP) vide Ministry of Defense letter no. 12(1)/2014/Defence (Pension/Policy)-Part-II dated 07.1.2015 And the tables for the determination of pension were issued vide Ministry of Defense letter No.12(1)/2014/Defence (Pension/Policy)-Part-II dated 03.02.2016.

The second question of MP Rajmohan Unnithan was - have the ex-servicemen of the army been demanding amendment in the OROP scheme for a long time and if so, what are the details thereof. In his third question, he asked- Has the Supreme Court on March 22 this year directed the government to revise the pension of ex-servicemen within three months. If yes, what is the government's reaction to this?

In response to these questions related to One Rank One Pension Scheme, Minister of State in the Ministry of Defense, Shri Ajay Bhatt said- Hon'ble Supreme Court, vide its order dated 16.03.2022, has directed that as per the notice dated 7th November, 2015, The work will be done from 1st July, 2019 at the end of five years. Action is being taken regarding revision of pension under OROP from 01.07.2019.
