Yogi government will honor the players who won medals in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England . Eight players from the state performed brilliantly in the Commonwealth Games. Yogi government will honor these youth with cash amount and other facilities. Under the new sports policy, the government had announced that the players who won medals at the international level would be honored with due respect and position.


The players who have got the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games will be awarded an amount of one crore rupees. Apart from this, silver medal winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 75 lakh and bronze medalists will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh. Apart from this, all the winners will also be given the post of gazetted officer.

These players will be honored

The players who will be honored by the state government include Priyanka Goswami, Dipti Sharma, Seema Poonia of Meerut, Meghna Singh of Bijnor, Lalit Upadhyay of Varanasi, Vijay Kumar Yadav, Poonam Yadav and Purnima Yadav, Divya Kakran of Muzaffarpur, Annu from Meerut. Rani, Vandana Kataria, Rohit Yadav of Jaunpur and Sarita Yadav of Sambhal are included.

Which player won medal in which sport

Lalit Upadhyay of Varanasi won the silver medal in the Indian men's hockey team. Apart from this, Priyanka Goswami, a resident of Meerut, won the silver medal in 10,000 meters walk. At the same time, the player of the Women's cricket team, Dipti Sharma, a resident of Meerut and Meghna Singh, a resident of Bijnor, have won the silver medal. India won the silver medal in women's cricket. Apart from this, Vijay Kumar Yadav of Varanasi and Divya Kakran of Muzaffarpur won the Bonj Medal in Freestyle Wrestling in Judo. Meerut's Annu Rani also won the javelin throw and women's hockey team player Vandana Kataria also won the Bonj Medal.

The state government will also felicitate those sportspersons who took part in the Commonwealth Games. These players include Seema Poonia (discus throw) of Meerut, Poonam Yadav and Purnima Yadav (weightlifting) of Varanasi, Rohit Yadav (javelin throw) of Jaunpur and Sarita Yadav (hammer throw) from Sambhal. All these players will be honored by giving 5-5 lakh rupees.
