The Supreme Court has given great relief to the suspended leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma, who was in trouble by making a controversial statement on Prophet Mohammad. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court has ordered to club the cases registered against her across the country and transfer them to Delhi on the petition of Nupur Sharma. The Supreme Court has said that now the Delhi Police will investigate the cases registered against them.
Nupur Sharma had sought relief from the Supreme Court
Nupur Sharma had made this demand by filing a petition in the Supreme Court recently. In fact, on Nupur's statement, an atmosphere was created against her in the whole country. Apart from Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Rajasthan, FIRs were lodged against him in many states of the country. Strict action was demanded against Nupur. Along with this, there were threats to kill the suspended BJP leader and his family members from different organizations and individuals. Nupur Sharma was also receiving rape threats.
Nupur Sharma was getting death threats
He was receiving death threats from different parts of the country. Troubled by this, Nupur Sharma took refuge in the Supreme Court. He had filed a petition saying that since there is a threat to his life, the cases registered against him in different parts of the country should be transferred to Delhi and the investigation should be done here. However, the Supreme Court judge had made a strong comment on his petition. A bench of Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Suryakant had said that Nupur Sharma is the only culprit in this case. Because of them, the atmosphere across the country has deteriorated.
Delhi Police will investigate the matter
However, the bench of Justice Pardiwala and Justice Surya Kant has given him relief. The bench said that the court has already taken cognizance of the grave danger to the life and safety of the petitioner. Court should transfer all the FIRs lodged against Nupur Sharma and the Delhi Police should investigate the matter.
