10 days CBI remand to TMC leader Anuvrat Mandal, arrested in cattle smuggling case

Central investigators will try to unearth the secret details of the cow smuggling case by taking him into custody for the next 10 days.

West Bengal: After the arrest of TMC leader Anuvrat Mandal, the CBI produced him in a special court in Asansol. CBI has sought 14 days remand for Anuvrat Mandal from the court. However, the accused leader was sent to CBI custody for 10 days by the court. Meanwhile, in court, Anuvrat Mandal pleaded for his physical problems but the court ignored his request. Now Anuvrat Mandal will be in CBI custody till 20th August.

It is said that Anuvrat Mandal was arrested from his house in Bolpur Nichutla on Thursday morning. He was produced in Asansol court. His lawyer did not apply for bail in the courtroom and Anuvrat himself stood in the court and told about his various physical problems. But even after that he could not escape from CBI custody. Regarding the matter, Anuvrat's lawyer said that he did not apply for bail.

The way people are reacting to this, nothing can be said if the bail plea is rejected. As a result, the CBI did not find any difficulty in taking Anuvrat into custody. Central investigators will try to unearth the secret details of the cow smuggling case by taking him into custody for the next 10 days. According to the order of the court, the treatment will be arranged at the Command Hospital in Kolkata. If he is sick, two lawyers can go to look after him whenever he wants.

It is said that after the arrest of Anuvrat Mandal, West Burdwan district including Birbhum district and where jaggery and Batasha were distributed by the leaders, workers, supporters of opposition parties across the state. Happiness was expressed. At the same time, no action was seen from Trinamool in this direction.

Before this, the CBI has questioned him twice. The CBI had registered a case in the case of animal smuggling in 2020, in which the name of Anuvrat Mandal also surfaced. According to the CBI, between 2015 and 2017, the BSF had recovered the heads of 20,000 animals. These animals were being smuggled across the border. CBI had recently raided many places in this case.

Bodygod was already arrested: The agency had already arrested Saigal Hussain, the bodyguard of Mandal. Saigal has assets worth about one hundred crore rupees, including several flats, petrol pumps, gold and silver, in Birbhum and Kolkata. The CBI had traced hundreds of acres of land including Hero's jewellery. Cow-trading has been happening on a large scale in Ilambazar and Nanur in the district. Even from here cows have been smuggled to Bangladesh.
