Banda Boad Accident: Boat going from Marka Ghat in Banda, UP to Fatehpur sank due to deteriorating balance in Yamuna river. According to initial information, there were more than 30 people on board. There were 20 to 25 women including children in it. Divers have started searching for the missing people.

Women were going to their maternal home to celebrate Rakhi

According to preliminary information, villagers have started searching for the missing people. Till the time of writing the news, 4 bodies have been removed. The deceased could not be identified. After getting information about the accident, District Magistrate Anurag Patel left for the spot. Police force and administrative officers have also reached the spot. According to local media, Gaya Prasad Nishad, a resident of Samgra village, who reached the ghat by swimming, told that there were about 50 people in the boat. There are also 22 women and children in this. The sailor could not balance due to the wave caused by the strong wind. Because of this the boat capsized in the river. Most of them were women who were going to their maternal home to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan.

CM Yogi ordered

After receiving information about this accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district administration to immediately reach the spot and carry out rescue and relief work in connection with the boat accident in the Yamuna river in Banda district. Condoling the loss of life in the accident, he expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members. The Chief Minister has directed the team of District Magistrate, DIG, NDRF and SDRF to go to the spot immediately. He has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
