In Bihar, once again, JDU has become friends with the Grand Alliance. Nitish Kumar has again become the Chief Minister of the Grand Alliance. Despite having more seats, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav was satisfied with the post of Deputy CM. Apart from RJD, there are also Congress and Left parties in this grand alliance.
In such a situation, Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister but it will be a big challenge for him to take all the parties along. The reasons for which Nitish Kumar left the Grand Alliance in 2017 are still there today. During that time the case of corruption charges against Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav is still not over.
The question is, for how many days will Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi run the government together? What will happen to this grand alliance in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 and then the assembly elections to be held in 2025? Let's understand the political equation...
First know about the challenges that Nitish Kumar will have to face
1. Corruption allegations on Lalu family: Many members of Lalu's family are accused of corruption. RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is still serving his sentence. His wife Rabri Devi and his elder daughter Misa Bharti and son Tejashwi Yadav are facing corruption cases. It was only after the allegations against Tejashwi that Nitish Kumar decided to part ways from the Grand Alliance in 2017.
2. Keeping the position and ego away: There are a total of 243 seats in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. In this, RJD has 79, BJP 77, JD(U) 45, Congress 19, CPI (ML) 12, CPI and CPI(M) two each, AIMIM one, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HUM) four and one independent. One seat is vacant. The meaning is clear, at present, RJD has the maximum number of seats in the Grand Alliance. Despite this, Nitish Kumar of JDU is the Chief Minister. In such a situation, Nitish will have to satisfy the RJD to run the government. The interference of RJD in the government will also be more this time than before. Dealing with this will also be a big challenge for Nitish.
3. Coordination of workers: There are also many differences among the workers of RJD, Congress and JDU. To run the government, coordination between the workers and leaders of all the parties of the Grand Alliance will also be a big challenge for Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi.
What will be the future of Mahagathbandhan?
We asked the same question to Diwakar Jha, a senior journalist from Bihar. He said, 'The circumstances under which Nitish Kumar broke away from the Grand Alliance in 2017 are known to all. There has been no significant change between then and today. Yes, RJD has definitely become stronger than before. In such a situation, obviously, Nitish Kumar may remain the Chief Minister, but Tejashwi Yadav will take the decision.
Jha further says, 'After taking oath, Tejashwi has tried to give a message by touching the feet of Nitish Kumar that Nitish is big and he respects him. However, such pictures are common in politics. Akhilesh Yadav had touched Mayawati's feet in the UP elections too. Everyone saw what happened later.'
According to Diwakar, Tejashwi Yadav is yet to make his career. He wants to become the chief minister. In such a situation, Tejashwi constantly tries to remain in the media. He goes to the public and announces anything. If he continues this even further, then it may be difficult for the Nitish government. Similarly, the Congress, taking along with the comrades of the Left parties will prove to be a headache for Nitish. While in the NDA, only the BJP had to be persuaded for any decision, but in the grand alliance, the consent of many parties would have to be taken. If Nitish Kumar is not able to do this, then soon the Mahagathbandhan will have a situation like 2017.
