Kabul Blast: A big news is coming from Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. According to the information, at least 20 people, including the chief cleric, have died in a bomb blast during prayers at a mosque here. 40 others were also injured in this blast, who are undergoing treatment. The condition of many of the injured remains critical.

No one immediately took responsibility for the attack

So far no one has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. According to an eyewitness, a suicide bomber hailing from Kher Khanna locality of the city targeted the Siddiqiya mosque and exploded there. According to PTI news, on condition of anonymity, an eyewitness said that the slain cleric was Mullah Amir Mohammad Kabuli. He said that more than 30 people were injured. The Italian emergency hospital in Kabul said at least 27 injured civilians, including five children, had been brought from the scene.

Blast inside mosque confirmed

Khalid Zadran, the Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Kabul police chief, confirmed an explosion inside a mosque in northern Kabul, but did not give any casualties. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid also condemned the blast and vowed that "the perpetrators of such crimes will soon be brought to book and punished."
