Anubrata Mondal, a strong leader of the Trinamool Congress and close to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, did not get relief from the court. He has been sent to the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) till August 24. After the end of CBI custody, the President of Birbhum District Trinamool Congress was produced in a special court on Saturday.
CBI has arrested in cow smuggling case
The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) demanded further custody of the Trinamool leader for questioning. Anubrata Mandal's lawyer appealed to the court to grant bail to his client. After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court ordered to send Anubrata Mondal in CBI custody, arrested in the case of cow smuggling.
