Asia Cup 2022: VVS Laxman appointed as head coach of Team India, BCCI announced

VVS Laxman, former India's legendary cricketer and director of the National Cricket Academy, has been made the interim head coach of Team India for the Asia Cup 2022. BCCI has announced this.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the appointment of VVS Laxman as the interim head coach. In a statement issued, he said, VVS Laxman will be the interim head coach for Team India (Senior Men) for the upcoming ACC Asia Cup 2022 to be played in UAE. He further explained. Laxman, who was involved as a coach with the Indian team in the Zimbabwe tour, will be with Team India in the absence of Rahul Dravid. Rahul Dravid will join the team after being corona negative.

The head coach of the Indian cricket team, Rahul Dravid, was found to be Corona positive on Tuesday. This was confirmed by the Secretary of the Cricket Board of India (BCCI), Jay Shah. Shah said, the head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid, was found corona positive before the team left for UAE (United Arab Emirates) for the Asia Cup 2022. Dravid is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team and has minor symptoms. He will join the team back when Corona comes negative.
